Because episodes of violence are hard to predict, it is advisable for all workers to possess skills in detecting potentially disruptive situations and defusing them. Anger is a normal response to the changes, disappointments and mistreatments that intersect lives, but poorly managed anger contributes to future problems. Anger is a powerful emotion that fuels us with an external response toward growth and change, or an internal response which may lead to depression and bitterness. In this interactive workshop, we consider different levels of anger, signs of hidden anger, examples of distortions that complicate a healthy response to anger and steps to manage anger more effectively.

Learn about memory and how it works. This program will provide examples of cognitive activities, stimuli and exercises to keep ones mind "working" or fluid. It will explore memory accommodations to assist the recollection process and provide a list of resources to "tap" into as you work to help clients maintain independence. It includes the "4 big energizers" to relieve stresses that block and interfere with recall. There will be opportunities to practice memory exercises and activities with stimulations.
