Area Agency on Aging Presents $1,000 Grant to Kelly Thayer

Congratulations to Kelly Thayer, a 2014 recipient of a $1000.00 grant from the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc.  A resident of Lexington, Kelly is a 1995 Graduate of Madison High School and is obtaining his licensure as a Registered Nurse from Rue Education.


Area Agency on Aging Chief Executive Officer Duana Patton presented the grant to Mrs. Thayer at the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. office at Hawkins Corner.


Kelly learned about the grant opportunity from her husband Matt, a Home Repair Coordinator at the Area Agency on Aging.  In addition to her studies, Kelly works at Mifflin Care Center, Mansfield and resides in Lexington with her husband Matt and son Zach.  


This grant is one of six (6) $1,000.00 grants the Agency on Aging Board of Trustees elected to provide this year to individuals for higher education or classes benefitting the field of aging.


The nine-county Area Agency on Aging Board supports and promotes programs for older and disabled adults. One of the Board objectives is to help others in the community learn more about the agency goals in providing leadership for adult independence.


The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. serves a nine county district of Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca and Wyandot Counties, providing assistance to those age 60 and over and disabled.  The Area Agency on Aging can be reached at (419) 524-4144 or (800) 560-5799.
