Area Agency on Aging Presents Grant to Gilead Christian School Graduate

Area Agency on Aging Presents $1,000 Grant to Gilead Christian School Graduate Bremma Kurilec

Congratulations to Brenna Kurilec, a 2012 recipient of a $1000 grant from the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (AAA)  Brenna is a graduate of Gilead Christian School in Mount Gilead and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at Bluffton University.  In addition, Brenna works at Gilead Day Care and plays on the Bluffton University basketball team.   Area Agency on Aging CEO, Duana Patton, and AAA Board representative Mayor Mike Porter presented the grant to Brenna at the Morrow County Senior Center on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.  Morrow County Senior Center Director, Steve Crabtree, was also in attendance for the Grant presentation.

This grant is one of six (6) $1,000.00 grants the AAA Board of Trustees elected to provide this year to individuals for higher education or classes benefitting the field of aging. There were more than 80 applications submitted for the six (6) grants.   Other 2012 Grant awardees include:

Kathy Pinyerd, Galion, OH (Crawford County)
Nathan Rosich, Mansfield, OH (Richland County)
Lanna Neale, Crestline, OH (Crawford County)
Aaron Gabriel, Upper Sandusky, OH (Wyandot County)
Suzanne Lifer, Shelby, OH (Richland County)

In addition, Claire Lee, Republic, OH (Seneca County) was selected to receive a $2500.00 Merit Scholarship.

The AAA serves a nine county district of Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca and Wyandot Counties, providing assistance to those age 60 and over and disabled.  The AAA can be reached at (419) 524-4144 or (800) 560-5799.
