Area Agency on Aging selects Sika as the winner of the 2016 Community Service Award

Ontario OH – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc. is proud to announce Sika has been selected as the 2016 Community Service Award. Sika, along with the Outstanding Senior Citizens and the Safe Driver Recipients were honored on Thursday, August 25 at a ceremony hosted at Hawkins Corner.

 

Founded in 2013, Sika is the first corporate meal route in Marion County. The Sika volunteers pick up meal bags from the Marion Senior Center and then deliver the meals to LifeCare Alliance clients in Marion. Sika has been multiple awards for their service including the 2014 Corporate Meals-on-Wheels Route Spirit Award and the 2015 Corporate Meals-on-Wheels Route Coordinator Spirit Award for Sika’s MOW Coordinator, Mikki Capdevill.

 

Each year the Area Agency on Aging honors an organization, agency, service club, business, or media outlet that is making a difference in their communities on behalf of senior citizens.

 

There is only one award recipient selected from the Agency’s nine county service area (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot, respectfully.)
