Elders Engaged and Honored at OSU
Local community agencies came together on Wednesday, May 21st, to host over 80 seniors on the campus of The Ohio State University Mansfield. The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., along with OSU Mansfield, Richland County Children’s Services, and the North End Community Improvement Collaboration, hosted the event to honor the connection area seniors have with our children and community.
The morning opened with educational sessions on topics of interest to seniors, including public policy, local history, sexuality in later life, and online engagement. The event concluded with lunch keynote speaker Stephen Gavazzi, Dean and Director of OSU Mansfield, and special recognition of Mr. Earl “Otis” Hawkins for his legacy in the community.
