Huron County Outstanding Senior Citizen Award

Max and Corrine Opper were chosen as the Huron County 2014 Outstanding Senior Citizen by the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. The Oppers accepted their award August 21st at Hawkins Corner.  This power couple can be seen in action at the Carriage House.  They help with the transportation on their many outings.  On their visits to nursing homes, Max dresses and impersonates Elvis.  The Opers are also active at eh Senior Enrichment Center and are part of the Senior Ambassador Volunteer Group.

Duana Patton, Chief Executive Officer of the Area Agency on Aging states “By recognizing these award recipients today, I hope the contributions made by the individuals in their communities are an inspiration to all, regardless of age.  Community service can begin at any age and is something you can do for a lifetime.”

In addition, eleven Safe Driving Awards were given in recognition of transportation service drivers throughout the aging services network in Crawford County.
