In addition to the walk, participants will also receive strategies and tips for falls prevention. They will have the opportunity to meet the Area Agency on Aging’s Matter of Balance class instructor and learn how wellness workshops can reduce the risk of falls. Participants will meet at the inside mall entrance of Avita Ontario Hospital at 7:45 a.m. Walk will begin at 8 a.m. Participation is completely free. All are invited, and no RSVP is required.
“10 Million Steps to Prevent Falls” is a statewide effort to raise awareness of falls prevention for older adults.
