Ontario OH – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (AAA) and the Springfield Township Fire Department are pleased to invite Ontario residents to a kick-off in support of the fire department’s and AAA’s upcoming levies and to announce a partnership between the two service organizations. The kick-off is set to start at 10 a.m. on Nov. 6. in the Hawkins Corner Event Center, 2131 Park Avenue West, Suite 300, Ontario.

This new partnership was formed to better serve senior citizens within the community. The fire department recognized an increase in 911 calls from local seniors who need help to remain in their homes. By working with AAA, the fire department will be able offer information on services and programs that are available to seniors. A few of the services and programs include: personal care, transportation, home medical equipment, home delivered meals, emergency button, minor home repair, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), wellness classes, free diabetes classes, free balance classes and caregiver support.

Kick-off attendees will receive additional information about this much-needed community collaboration as well as information about both upcoming levies, which will be on the ballot Nov. 7. Children will have an opportunity to see the fire trucks.
