Seneca County Outstanding Senior Citizen Award

Mike and Joanna Estep were chosen as the Seneca County 2014 Outstanding Senior Citizen by the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. The Esteps accepted their award August 21st at Hawkins Corner, Ontario, Ohio. The Esteps are actively involved with the Seneca County Chaplain Corp., aiding in disaster relief, counseling, running a canteen to help the fire department and miscellaneous things to help area relief. Mike and Joanna have also been actively involved as Gideon’s Jaycees, Sunday School teachers, and Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders.

Proclamations were presented to the Esteps from Seneca County Commissioner Holly Stacy and Brian Glover Director of Seneca County Senior Center.

Duana Patton, Chief Executive Officer of the Area Agency on Aging states “By recognizing these award recipients today, I hope the contributions made by the individuals in their communities are an inspiration to all, regardless of age.  Community service can begin at any age and is something you can do for a lifetime.”

In addition, six Safe Driving Awards were given in recognition of transportation service drivers throughout the aging services network in Morrow County.
