Charlotte Leeth was chosen as the Wyandot County 2014 Outstanding Senior Citizen by the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. in Ontario. Charlotte was unable to attend the award ceremony on August 21st at Hawkins Corner, Ontario. Charlotte retired at 70 and wondered how she would stay busy until she found volunteering. She started volunteering at the Probation office and is a Middle School Mentor and volunteers at Open Door, a local resource center to help families who are struggling.
Jean received a proclamation from State Representative Jeff McClain.
Duana Patton, Chief Executive Officer of the Area Agency on Aging states “By recognizing these award recipients today, I hope the contributions made by the individuals in their communities are an inspiration to all, regardless of age. Community service can begin at any age and is something you can do for a lifetime.”
In addition, four Safe Driving Awards were given in recognition of transportation service drivers throughout the aging services network in Wyandot County.
