2021 Scholarship Program

The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. and the Corporate Board of Trustees are pleased to announce the 2021 Scholarship Program. Three (3) scholarship awards will be provided to individuals for higher education or classes benefitting the field of aging. Scholarship award amounts for the academic year 2021/2022 are as follows: One(1) $2,000.00 for a student attending a 4-year university; One(1) $1000.00 for a student attending a 2-year college or technical school; and One(1) $1000.00 for a student attending any type of higher institute of learning.

Deadline: February 1, 2021

Guidelines:

For all Scholarship Awards:

  • Applicant must be living in or working in the field of aging or disability services in one of the following nine counties: Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca or Wyandot
  • Applicant must have graduated from a high school located in one of the following nine counties: Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca or Wyandot
  • Applicants with a GED must be living or working in one of the following nine counties: Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca or Wyandot
  • Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. employees and their family members are eligible to apply
  • Past recipients of the Grant & Scholarships programs are not eligible to apply
  • Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. Board of Trustees members are not eligible to receive the scholarship

For the $2000 Scholarship Award:

  • Applicant must be enrolled in a 4 year college or university
  • Must have a minimum of 3.00 GPA or equivalent in an alternative grading system
  • Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following courses of study such as Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Health Sciences, Dietetics or Gerontology

For the $1000 Scholarship Awards:

  • Applicant must be enrolled in course of study that supports the field of aging and health care. Examples include but are not limited to: Medical Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, LPN, Pharmacy Technician, STNA.
