Senior Spring Extravaganza

Every year in May, Older Americans Month celebrates older adults nationwide. From raising children to careers and legacies, older Americans give back to the community in many ways. Whether they mentored a student, helped pass out food at a pantry, or served our country, each deserves recognition.

Older Americans Month also serves to raise awareness concerning elder abuse and neglect. We must protect our older population from the risks of abuse and neglect. One way is to maintain involvement in community and social activities. This helps maintain our overall health and vitality.

To celebrate, we hold the Senior Spring Extravaganza, our biggest event of the year. Join us on May 16th, 2024, from 9 AM - 1 PM at the Richland County Fairgrounds!

This year, the theme for Older Americans Month is Powered by Connection. This theme recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being. We will explore the vital role that connectedness plays in supporting independence and aging in place by combatting isolation, loneliness, and other issues. In celebration of Older Americans Month, we hold the annual Senior Spring Extravaganza event. This year, we will be going back to the 70s! This decade coincides with 1974 when the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. was established. Celebrate Older Americans and our 50th Anniversary with us!
