Ontario OH – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc. is proud to announce the Outstanding Senior Award and the Community Service Award nominations are now open and will close April 5, 2025 at 5:00 PM.
Each year the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council and the Corporate Board selects older adults and one organization who have made a difference in their communities and present a positive image of aging. There is one Outstanding Senior award recipient for each county in the Agency’s service area (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot) and one organization selected for Community Service award across all of the nine counties. Since 1976, 415 Outstanding Senior Citizen Awards and 45 Community Service Awards have been presented.
Awardees must first be nominated by an individual or organization who reside in one of the following counties (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot) and are then selected by the Advisory Council and the Corporate Board based on the impact of their contributions and accomplishments within the community made after reaching age 60.
