Area Agency on Aging selects 2023 Richland County Outstanding Senior Citizen

Ontario OH – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., is proud to announce the 2023 Richland County Outstanding Senior Citizen as Mr. William Danuloff.

 

Bill continues his retirement life with a focus on service and contributions to his community.  Bill was one of the first members of the Area Agency on Aging Foundation Board where he served for eight years including Chairman of the Building Committee.  Hawkins Corner was Bill's primary focus as he oversaw the reconstruction and transformation from a grocery store to this beautiful office building.  In recognition of Bill's contribution, he was awarded the Agency's " Award of Excellence" in 2014.

 

Bill is also a past recipient (2014) of the "Extraordinary Leadership Award" from the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce award, where he served as a Board Member and Chairperson of the Board.

 

He has been passionate about volunteering for St Peter Catholic Church serving as the past president of the school commission, founder and past president of Academic Boosters, member of Vocations Club, past Chairman of St Peter Festival, and Chair of the Thanksgiving Dinner for the needy in the community. Currently, Bill is a volunteer construction worker on the remodel of the Rectory and High School where he utilizes his love for woodworking and building.

 

In the presence of family, friends, and dignitaries, Mr. Danuloff was honored on Wednesday, August 30th at the Area Agency on Aging located within the Hawkins Conference Center and hosted by Duana Patton, Chief Executive Officer at the Area Agency on Aging, and Jason Painley, Corporate Board President.

 

Each year, the Area Agency on Aging honors senior citizens who are making a difference in their communities and present a positive image of aging. There is one award recipient for each county in the Agency’s service area (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot).

 

Awardees must first be nominated by an individual or organization involved with seniors. They are then selected by the Agency based on the impact of their contributions and accomplishments within the community made after reaching age 60.
